Return, refund and warranty policy for John Barber and Sons
Valid from: 01.01.2023
John Barber & Sons operates as a B2B supplier and has a strict policy on returns and guarantees to ensure clarity and fairness in all transactions. By purchasing from us you accept the terms and conditions below.
No returns policy
John Barber & Sons does not accept returns under any circumstances. All sales are final. Customers are asked to check their orders carefully on delivery and report any problems immediately.
No returns for custom orders
Returns are expressly excluded for custom orders, especially for merchandise with logos or customization.
Warranty and service conditions
We offer warranties for defective products only, subject to inspection and under the following conditions:

Warranty period:
- Electronics and small parts: 12 months from date of purchase.
- Barber chairs and larger units: 24 months from date of purchase.

Obligation to inspect:
- All warranty claims are subject to inspection by our technical team.
- Customers must send the defective items to the following address at their own expense:

Temporary provision of back parts (for barber chairs):
- For barber chairs and similar products, we can provide a temporary back part (without massage function) for use during the inspection process. This is a goodwill service and does not constitute an extension of the warranty.

Repair service:
- If the defect is covered by the warranty, we will repair the product free of charge.
- If the defect is not covered by the warranty (e.g. due to improper use or wear and tear), repair costs will be communicated and charged accordingly.

Warranty exclusions:
- Damage caused by improper use, incorrect installation or unauthorized repairs.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Consumable items (e.g. light bulbs, batteries, upholstery).
Refunds are only available in the following limited circumstances:
A. Manufacturing defects
A refund can only be granted if all of the following conditions are met:
- There is a significant manufacturing defect.
- The defect is reported immediately after delivery.
- The defective product is returned to us for technical inspection.

A refund will only be made after:
- Physical inspection by our technical department and
- Written confirmation that the defect is covered by the warranty.
John Barber & Sons reserves the right to repair or replace the product prior to a refund.
B. Loss during transportation
A refund without return is only possible if:
- The shipment is proven to have been lost during transportation and
- The loss has been officially confirmed by the transport company after the investigation has been completed.
Until formal confirmation by the transport company, the case remains open and there is no entitlement to a refund.
Incoming goods inspection and reporting obligation
The customer is obliged:
- Inspect the goods immediately upon delivery and
- inform John Barber & Sons immediately of any visible or hidden defects.
If this inspection or notification is not carried out, the goods shall be deemed to have been accepted and all warranty and refund claims shall be excluded.
Mandatory unboxing video (obligation to provide proof)
A complete, uninterrupted unboxing video is required for all delivered goods for any claims for defects, refund, replacement or compensation.
The video must:
- Show all packages in a sealed condition prior to opening,
- Be recorded continuously without interruption or editing, and
- Clearly show the product, all accessories and the alleged defect.
Claims without an unboxing video that meets the requirements will be rejected for lack of evidence.
Non-refundable costs
Even if the refund is approved, the following costs are not refundable:
- Shipping and delivery costs,
- customs duties, value added tax, import taxes and clearance fees as well as
- processing and administrative costs.
Shipping costs
- All shipping costs for returning defective items for inspection or repair are the responsibility of the customer.
- If repairs or replacement parts are under warranty, John Barber & Sons will cover the return shipping costs of the repaired or replaced items.
